Covid-19 Update

On June 8th, the Government of Ontario announced the increase in social gathering limits from 5 to 10 people and that it will be taking a regional approach, in their Stage 2 plan, for the re-opening of the economy.

Also included in this announcement was the directive that Outdoor Amateur Team Sports can begin “training”.

Pitch In, Play ON! Ontario Soccer announces Return to Play

Ontario Soccer’s Return to Play Plan consists of a phased-in approach ensuring return to soccer (final stage) is done in a progressive manner. This method is to ensure the soccer system transitions as governmental health authorities modify their health and safety standards over time, as our communities return to the new normal of life as well as sport and recreational participation. The priority at all times must be to preserve public health, minimizing the risk of community transmission.

Ontario Soccer will determine timelines for each Phase in alignment with the Province of Ontario provincial health authorities involving government orders, restrictions and guidelines.

What does this mean for Puslinch Soccer?

Prior to each phase, there are critical steps that each Club must meet before our players and teams can get back on the fields.  To enter Phase 1 – Return to Train:

  • we are working on our own PMSC Return to Play document and will communicate it with our membership once complete.
  • There will also be new waivers to sign through your SportsEngine profile.
  • We must then receive approval from our Township for rental of fields.

TIMBITS UPDATE  - We regret that PMSC has had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Timbits 2020 Outdoor Season.  It is our feeling that with the limits on social gathering and the challenges of monitoring distancing requirements with these age groups, proceeding with our program in its traditional format will not be possible this summer.

RECREATIONAL UPDATE ESL and NPHSL have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Outdoor Season due to Covid-19 challenges and the uncertain timelines of the Return to Play Plan.  PMSC will not move forward with any of our teams as a result.

As Ontario Soccer and PMSC move forward through the Return to Play Phases, we will consider other programming options, if feasible.  Check back here for information.
